  13. We have a digital phone system that does 9600bps communications through
  14. an interface connected to the computer via a serial cable.

  16. I'm in the process of trying to figure out how we'd use Windows 95 with
  17. this (we've got a purchase order for an academic site license "in the
  18. channel"), but I'm running into a few snags.
  19.  
  20. 1) The dialer *really* wants a phone number. That doesn't work here, since
  21. it isn't a "real" modem.  You hit two buttons on the phone and it acts
  22. like a direct connection to a DECserver
  23.  
  24. 2) I've tried "set modem none," but it generates an area when it tries to 
  25. "dial," and then it won't go into CONNECT mode.  I've tried using a script
  26. file to just throw it into connect mode, but it looks like the script 
  27. won't run because the dial failed.

  29. Any suggestions?  We really need to be able to use the dialer, since we
  30. have another system some folks connect to via the phone system with *very*
  31. different terminal settings, and we're in the process of networking the 
  32. campus and don't want to have to re-train everyone twice.  (Once to switch
  33. to K95, once to learn the "dialer" once their office is networked).
